Hi there, I want toopen up a low cost hair salon, focusing entirely on low cost cuts, just drycuts, mainly aimed at children, working men, immigrants, were by practicalityis the focus. A good basic cut for around 3.00 Euros, less than half thenearest competitor. Thanksfor your help, Ben
Dear Ben I see no problems in that if you own the salon freehold and do not intend to employ anybody. However if you intend to lease a place and employ anybody I would strongly suggest that you first buy yourself a calculator. Consider the time you take to do a client and since few salons what are new are busy for more than half the opening hours. Work out how many clients you would fit into the week allowing at least five minutes in-between for taking the money from the completed customer and settling the new client into the chair. Then deduct the tax, rent, electrics, telephone, stock, general running costs and accountant fees plus your travel expenses. If you have any money left after your calculations. You will also have to deduct some money for the amount you first invested in setting the place up. Then ask yourself if what you have left over is better than working for a wage in a more expensive salon, Or charging a little more for your work. Maybe you should order a book and Cd pack from the purchase items page on our site. The Editor Views: 134
